Nothing To Say

On a Saturday morning two months ago, Lily called the police after seeing the local news. There were a couple of witnesses to the fatal hit and run that occurred the night before. After hearing their accounts of what happened, she undoubtedly knew that it was Erica’s car.

Erica’s drinking had made her a threat to herself and to others. The jury clearly agreed.

They had nothing to say to each other. The damage was done, and as the two sisters stood looking at one another, they both knew it.

“Let’s go,” the bailiff said, as he pulled Erica’s arm.
